I have installed adobe flash player v 10 and when I go on one site it says I need to install it. It is puzzling me. I think it is working now but I am curious thats all.

Some sites use software that will misidentify the latest software, until they upgrade themselves. They can sometimes inform people that the software they have isnt the latest and needs updating because they dont recognise the upgrade.

In other cases you may find that the flashplayer software on a computer can be reset back to a previous earlier version.
