Liam is better than Tom at singing, Tom is a better performer,on balance I just would have put Liam through as Tom will struggle with many of the daft themed weeks such as swing week, diva week etc.
Instead of altering age limits its the themed weeks that should go and just have songs they can perform to their best presented in 'live' shows to the viewers.

But Tom is highly unlikely to get thru to live shows and they know that. Liam was unlikely to either considering the competition, but now Liam is likely to go thru to live shows and thats why they did that im sure
