It's been over a year since EA Games released The Sims 3, now it looks likely that a 4th Installment to the franchise may just be around the corner.

When asked whether another entry in the titanic franchise was already being designed, Electronic Arts would not confirm specific plans.

'The Sims 3 is still just a baby, so there is really no rush to go ahead with a fourth game. Although if we were to make a fourth one, I'd like to try and take it online and let players interact with each other and show off their own Sims and such.' says Executive Producer, Ben Bell.



This wouldn't be the first time The Sims has went online, back in 2002 EA Launched 'The Sims Online' which saw players interacting with eachother using The Sims Online, However it was shut down in December 2008.

Bell went on to say, 'We're always looking for ways to improve the games, The Sims 2 was a great step from the first game and of course The Sims 3 was a big step further than what we had in the past. The big thing right now is online play, It could really work having players play with eachother, but we'll just have to wait and see. The Sims 3 still has alot more expansion packs on the way so that's our main priority at the minute.'

So if EA are planning a new game, don't except to see it on shelves until another few years.

meh, The Sims 3 is bollocks so the sooner they s.t.f.u about that the better.

Are you kidding? If they were to incorporate online play with TS2 it would be massive.

It's like Sims on other consoles. It's just not the same.

Although it would save a whole lotta hassle in my household. My dad hates Sims with a vengance. We've had it istalled and delted on about twenty occasions. And when I ask him to download it again, I actully get scared now

When there's a new expansion pack, he always goes 'So how is this different to the other one?'. And i'm like dad you won't understand.

I found the whole idea of The Sims pointless and boring once I discovered how to make Sims Big Brother.

The idea of the game of course is to make your own stories and stuff, I did this but now I can't imagine how people still do this on The Sims 3 and stuff, it seems quite funny and boring.

But Movie Making is one of the things I love doing, there isn't a game that actually allows for this other than The Sims 2

tbh. I just can't wait to get TS3 on PS3 so I can make Big Brother houses.

I hope you can lock onto your sim with the cursor like The Sims and The Sims Bustin' Out on PS2, and that it's not **** for making BB houses.

I would love it if the other Sims in a neighbourhood were controlled by other players. That would make the game a whole lot more interesting. Imagine you make a Sim and their love interest were controlled by someone else? I know there are about a million things that could go wrong with that but it would a new dynamic to the game which would make it MUCH more addictive imo.

And I love Sims 2 and 3 equally, am I weird?
