Sorry but what exactly does that have to do with this thread??

We are discussing a certain scene in last night's Coronation Street, perhaps you would be better off in the EastEnders thread...

I was replying to Novo and Tom's posts, and I'll post where I want to.

I think it was a memory of Vera, or Jacks brain playing tricks on him as it was shutting down. I think that's why people see lights as well when they have near death experiences. Your mind does funny things when it's not functioning properly.

It's quite a common phenomena that dying people see their dead relatives and it is a purely subjective viewpoint as to whether they are spirits or memories. We will no doubt find out ourselves in due course! Meanwhile, if a dying person believes they are being reunited with their dead loved ones that must be of enormous comfort not just to the dying person, but to the ones left behind to believe that the dying person is going to be with those he once loved.

I thought the scene was excellently shot, with just the right amount of humour and pathos - it could so easily have gone over the top but it didn't. Perhaps because of the ordinariness of the setting and the fact he was alone listening to his records and thinking of happier times, I unexpectedly found myself sobbing.

No drama.

I feel sorry for the guy though but he went peacefully, was hardly sad and tear jerking stuff.

And I really wouldn't call this the best episode of Corrie EVER although I haven't seen them all I do know there's been at least 3 I seen far better than this dull moment.
You wouldn't be saying that if you had grown up watching Jack and Vera - many people did, they were the mot loveable believeable couple in soap.

Plus Jack has been in Corrie 5 years longer than EastEnders has been running, that's how big of a legend he was

Your comment still has nothing at all to do with this thread...

Typical of EastEnders fans though trying to bait Corrie fans, they do it all the time on Digital Spy... You should join up there, though I expect you already have...

Corrie has loads of people still in it from at least 25 years ago, Eastenders only has one left since the shows start. What are the chances of him still being around in 25 years? Meanwhile Corrie still has Ken from day 1 and Emily from the first few episodes too.

Exactly. Even my Mum has grown up watching a lot of them! I can remember when Kevin & Sally were a pair of teenagers & first started dating, now their kids have grown up! When Deirdre & Gail first appeared in the 1970's they were both young & fancy free girls out for having a good time! Even Steve has been there since 1989 & was a hearthrob back then

That is where Corrie is so different to all the other soaps...

I watch both, neither regularly. Couldn't really care less about baiting someone over a soap when there is a forum full of Rebecca fans from X Factor online.
