Ben fans don't follow Ben around - another little figment of your imagination there I'm afraid.

Anyhow, you're boring the hell out of me now.

Ben: duplicitous, passive aggressive, bitchy (verging on nasty), self seeking, weak, homophobic, etc.

Mario: Jealous, obsessive, self regarding, sex orientated, naturist (in yer face sort), predatory, etc.

Clearly, both have had many negative points made about them. There's not going to be much changing of opinion towards either of them. However, for the sake of balance, I challenge you to say positive things about either of them, not just "seemingly" positive but genuine positve statements about Ben or Mario, especially of the person you have been criticising.

Blimey....I am stumped, there is nothing I like about Mario, I guess the one thing I can come up with is that Mario was/is not physically aggressive, though he was physically menacing in a stalkerish sort of way, ala his treatment of Ben and Andrew.

I'd love to be able to say something positive about Mario. Wait, I can. He's out of Ben's life, that's very positive. But I don't think that's quite what you meant. Other than that, I am sorry, but there is not one thing I could find about Mario that I could honestly and truthfully say was positive. I cannot abide the man.

Other than than, nope. There is not one thing I can say positive about Mario as a person. Nothing.

That's easy for me, I don't mind Ben, I wouldn't like him as a friend, but think he's interesting and he makes me laugh , his mannerisms and that wobble he does when he's self concious etc.
I hope he's learnt from big brother i hope he's changed and no longer feels the need to put other people down in order to feel good about himself.
If he was less bitchy, less judgemental I'd like him

Doesn't one contradict the other in your post

Plus Calyman did ask in their post the highlighted section which you have taken to dismiss it seems?

Hi Tibbs mods/admin,

Sorry for addressing this here. But I wanted a few admin/mods to read it rather than one by alerting. When I joined here I was over the moon how different to another site this was, and love/d posting here But am noticing a lsight change of late, unless I am just being paranoid about some stuff? But I will get to the point of the following and then leave it at that.

I noticed the latest thread on Mario has been closed with an aside to move on as BB is over. Well this site is called 'This is Big Brother', and people who enjoyed the show still wish to debate aspects of it, as they would. So can I ask although as much as I wouldn't like this thread to be closed even considering there may be some close to, touching, libellous posts in it that for all I know may well have been brought to an ex BB housemates attention by now? as to why the other one was locked then, and this one not given the reasons outlined?

Thank you in advance for taking time out to read this and respond.

Odd you mention about the other thread being closed because 'The show is over'. If a thread is closed because the show is finished, that should effectively mean that the entire BB section be closed then for no one to be able to post on it.

What I personally didn't quite get, was that particular thread was about something very current, and real - for everyone to see yet because people were simply disagreeing - it got shut down. Yet this one that has been shown to be be as far from the truth as you can get, remains open.

It doesn't make sense at all.

It is the truth I proved it, poor ben I don't think it was wise to remind him of what he said when he was drunk, that's why I never posted this on the digital spy forums where people might see and take the piss out of him, but maybe he'll take it in good humour.
It's not libel if it's true Suze

Ben does not worry himself with the forums, twitter or such like, he would care even less for the ramblings of an embittered ex housemate who he would not give in to his sexual innuendo and harrasment, There is no truth in your post Laura, except for a mention in the WHATM thread that Ben supposedly said it of an 8 year old schoolfriend, everything else is your Imagination running riot, scandalasly so, Good job really that Ben is unlikely to give a toss, though I dare say that it could be proved if required exactly who thses posts are really coming from.

What's the truth? You have taken something Ben might have said in BB and gone on to state it is about himself he was speaking and that he has issues. As for posting on DS, I never realised you were a member there? What name do you post under there then if you don't mind me asking? And I have to wonder just why you didn't post it there, there must be a reason mustn't there? Maybe you realise DS being a bigger forum that you are more open to being challenged on this in a thread or that potentially libellous posts would be more easily recognised ?

Sorry, I very rarely venture into this section anymore unless alerted to certain posts

The reason the other thread was closed was because basically, there were loads of reports coming from it every day from various members, and half of the posts in it were very off topic, people starting insulting each other and the likes.

Bad wording I agree, from the mod who closed it, but ^^ was the real reason

What were other people's thoughts on this?
You asked for my thoughts - well here goes.

As the Mother of a very balanced young man who, to paraphrase your words "sent him away to boarding school" I actually take great offence to that. It is a common and pretty ignorant misconception amongst those who are not privvy to that experience.

My son, now 23, LOVED boarding school and to this day, his best friends are those that he made there; the bond they have with each other is lovely to see. The decision was made mutually and has provided him with huge benefits. He had much longer holidays than his counterparts outside of the independent school system, as well as regular exeats every three weeks as well as home overnights. The price I paid in not having the everyday presence of my child has proved to be worthwhile. He is intelligent, well mannered & respectful, recieved a superb education and had the time of his life. He laughed himself silly for 5 years with friends that are still his best buddies to this day, and in no way screwed up. And by the way, no one ever wore nappies or for that matter, touched him inappropriately.

It may however engender a liking for older women. One of his friends had a girlfriend twice his age when he was about 17. His mates thought him very lucky to have got a bit of MILF experience under his belt. But seeing as the others just had very normal experiences, I wouldn't suggest that "being sent away" (it's not exile or borstal you know ) created a sexual preference for older women on mass. And the boy I refer to way in fact a friend. Not the operson relaying the information. Some people have friends you know, and tell amusing anecdotes about them. Exactly the way that I trust Ben told his amusing anecdote (that oddly, no-one else remembers hearing, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt on this point.)

I speak here from experience, not idle speculation.

You asked for our thoughts: these are mine.

Vicky, something isn't quite right. The thread that was closed, was only started yesterday, and was closed down within 7 hours - so Im unclear how it can be said that there were 'loads of reports coming from it every day'.... it wasn't even up for a day.

if half the posts on the thread were off topic, why are those who were guilty of taking it off topic, despite being asked by several members, to keep on topic, why are they not taken to task, rather than the thread being closed. It seems a very easy way of someone deliberately going OT, especially if they don't like the subject matter, they know that going OT will get the thread closed - and with their own posts being deleted so it looks like they have done nothing wrong -along with several of my own posts requesting that they stop going off topic being deleted.

Why punish the whole thread instead of those guilty of deliberately going OT, and who do so, knowing the thread will get closed. That's a wee bit unfair ?

Lol - yes it's called selective moderating - I get a warning for calling out the troll on the other thread, yet others get away with far worse than calling someone "thick" Mind you, it was totally worth it and I don't retract a word

It doesn't require any intellect to know the answer to that one really. I thought baiting other members was against the rules, but apparently not for some.

you all seemed really bored Going on and on about mario's lack of interest in ben I thought I might provoke a real discussion, Does boarding school mess kids up? Is ben's attraction to old ladies him looking for a mother? Is it a sad story of childhood need or is it a kinky story of adult fetish?
Lots to discuss

It seems a very easy way of someone deliberately going OT, especially if they don't like the subject matter, they know that going OT will get the thread closed - and with their own posts being deleted so it looks like they have done nothing wrong -along with several of my own posts requesting that they stop going off topic being deleted.

Why punish the whole thread instead of those guilty of deliberately going OT, and who do so, knowing the thread will get closed. That's a wee bit unfair ?
It's not up for discussion it was closed, as will this if you all dont stop insulting each other, discuss the old housemates by all means but flinging insults around isn't on.

You asked for our thoughts: these are mine.
thanks for your input, how old was your son when he was at boarding school?
Sorry a 17 year old dating a 34 year old?
I bet his parents were regretting sending him to boarding school, that does kind of back up my theory to be honest
