He was obviously overpriced, but it doesn't matter because we have the money anyway. He wasn't our first choice either, we tried for Llorente and Gomez first but had bids rejected. This season he has had the goalscoring form that teams in the top 4 want when he has been playing for a team only a few points away from relegation..
The deal was always that however much we sold Torres for, we'd be signing Carroll for £15 million less.
