Default Previous obsessions / phases.

Are there phases of your life you look back on with embarrassment with regard to your musical tastes of the time?

I remember being caught up in Spicemania

and I used to think "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton was the best song ever

I was a full on goth. One of the pretentious reverse snobbery ones who thought nothing existed outside metal which was 'real music'. Some of the bands have stuck with me. I still love Slipknot and Manson and appreciate them now more than ever but I was also into the standard issue ones any self respecting mosher with access to Kerrang! was into back in 2002. Linkin Park ... Papa Roach ... that sort of mess that only ******* continue listening to into adulthood.

Then I took loads of drugs and started listening to electronic music. I'm not sure which came first.

Never looked back, kid. Although I did miss my calling by like a good decade. The famous Sir Henry's was well gone by the time I hit my prime.

I had a Hannah Montana phase.

That and her song 'See You Again' was like my fave song ever.

oh I had a brief trip into goth-lite around 2005. But I only ever really peaked around A Perfect Circle and Tool the only band I've really stuck with are Placebo and even with them I can't say I care any more. Oh and AFI and Billy Talent, though that was more because of a friend...

I'd probably still like all of them if I bothered to re-download their stuff.

I've never even heard of The Forum. I heard Nancy Spains is a pit though.

Henry's used to be a rock bar. It's mad to think that Nirvana played there.

I wouldn't pidgeonhole APC and Tool like that at all to be honest. Lots of the goths get into them but they make brilliant music even if they are both a teeny bit overrated.

Still, Maynard Keenan's voice .

Drugs and electro music go hand in hand really

I got caught up in the whole 'indie' (it isnt really) resurgence in the mid noughties, Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Hard Fi etc ... what a nob

I'm into crap music atm though so can't really call what I've listened to in the past

The forum was just around the corner from Sir henrys, no idea what it is now though. Nancy Spains was good cos it let under agers in easily enough and when I was 16 I looked about 13

and yeah, I know, what year was that? unfortunately before I got into Nirvana

I was a weeaboo '03/04. Dressed as a loli to my school prom. Cringe-worthy, I'm not ****ting you, but looking back now, I wasn't nearly as obsessive as most of them now.

ah yeah, I was only 13 then, I think I was about 15 when I started liking them. For once I actually wish I was a few years older, that'd be some gig to have on my list.

I had a Black Eyed Peas phase when they were good but they're pretty awful now.

I tend to go through genre phases, like blues, soul, country, reggae, ska etc.

Not really anything I'm ashamed of. Sure I still listen to groups like S Club,Spice Girls and Hear'Say all the time and don't care.

What is she doing now? Has she flopped or just making new stuff?

Shes in the studio working on her second album, with Starsmith. The label gave her a second go despite the first era kinda flopping. The album sold 130,000 albums off the back of one hit single and two flops, and sold almost double of The Saturdays effort at the time so it isn't all bad.
