Default Solving a troubled relationship

A couple that I know were having a troubled relationship and decided that it would be wise for them to try and fix the relationship by having a 3 month break in the relationship to have a bit of time to their selves and it made me think - what is the best way to solve a troubled relationship - if a relationship can be saved at all.

You take them both to a house for sale - that's empty and lock them in a tiny room with a bed for 4 Days.

Most breaks end in breaking apart...

Give each other some space, and meet 1 evening for a date.

That works out fine too but you be talking all evening and getting along and laughing and then it's all good and then one of them acts like a soppy bastard after a hilarious joke is told they're like;

'Haha..-sigh- I miss us '

And then the other person is like 'Me Too ' and then you go on for like another 30 Minutes getting on fine until eventually one person brings up the reason you broke up in the first place and it all ends in tears again.

depends what the problem is really, if you can't work it out while you're together though taking a break will probably make things worse. Taking a break and then getting back together and wondering if and who you partner was with while you were apart can add to problems

I would never advise or suggest anything to any couple unless they really pressed me to, but really then I would likely just say,weigh up the plusses and minuses of being together.Then prioritise them.
Sometimes couples can set out to find all that attracted them to each other in the first place. Kind of like courting each other again.

However, it really does depend on the problem/s and if it's a problem that has been there a while or likely to recur,then a break (as Niamh says and who is far better placed to make a comment on this than me),is only likely going to make things worse.

Sadly if all trust is gone it's likely best to walk away.

depends your age, how long you've been together, if you were friends before or not, and a lot of different factors
