The fumes coming out of 1 car are more toxic than one smoker. Why arn't you campaigning against cars with the same fervor?

There is ZERO evidence that second hand smoke causes any more damage than living in a city. The cancer rates of non-smokers who live in cities, is the same as smokers who live in rural areas. So if you don't want lung cancer, you shouldn't live in a city!

The only people that are well out of order are the whinging 'anti smoking' brigade. They have this fantasy in their heads that they are in charge of the entire world: the streets we live in, the air - you name it, they think they own it and make the rults. It's their fantasy. They can keep it.

I love hearing about the volcanoes spewing their smoke and ash into the atmosphere - I can envisage the anti smoking nutjobs having a complete breakdown.

Mother nature is a smoker herself. You cannot argue with that one!!

Give me a smoker to car fumes anyday, chidlren in pushchairs get most exposed to car fumes and the annoying car drivers who have stopped and are talking to someone but leave their engines running are worse.
I don't care how safe people say some cars are as to exhaust fumes,it is still being emitted from them and it still stinks.

As I said earlier in this thread, when in an enclosed bus station,I cannot hardly breathe in there with the bus engines going etc, I would rather be in the presence of thousands of smokers, the smell of smoking is a million times better too.

How could it ever be right to ban smoking in open areas if people wish to, people pay their council taxes, smokers pay vastly higher taxes for smoking on duty to to the treasury. Prejudice and the nanny state come to mind as the only logical explanation for people condemning smokers,simply because they want to smoke, but the whingers don't want to smoke themselves but also want to impose their likes and dislikes on all others.

If any ban needs to likely be in place it needs to be against the whingers not the smokers.

To be fair he never said he doesn't smoke because people think it's wrong. He doesn't smoke because of the health concequences. Same reason I'm in a neverending process of trying to quit.

Anti smokers annoy the hell out of me too but I know I'm being very dickish when I'm smoking. I used to love these 'you only get one life' arguments too but they are complete fodder. What like you have to smoke to enjoy this one life or something?

All this B.S. about living life to the max, mannnn. What you need tobacco for that? All it does is temporarily give you the sensation of relaxation and stress reduction non smokers enjoy all the time. A cigarette doesn't make you feel better after a meal. It just makes you feel normal like every non smoker at the table. It's called addiction. It fills an insivible hole for about half an hour.

Again I can't stand the anti smoking brigade - people can smoke all they want - but at the same time I'm long, long past my youthful rebellion days of smoking apologetics. It's a fucking retarded habit.
