Friends and family of the star are said to be worried about her recent erratic behaviour and concerned that she has either turned back to drugs or developed an alcohol addiction, which they said is being worse by the fact that she is currently being offered very little work.

In 2002 Tara’s popularity soared after an appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity and for numerous years afterwards she earned £1million a year due to her work on newspaper columns, advertising campaigns and TV appearances.

However, with all the new reality TV shows and fly on the wall series, all that work has dried up and a pal of Palmer-Tomkinson said she is desperate to get back into the limelight and thinks Big Brother may just be the way to do it.

He explained:

‘Things have been quiet for Tara for a long time,’ said a friend. ‘She thought she would get a whole load of new opportunities with the Royal Wedding; she thought American TV would be all over her.

‘But that didn’t happen. Instead, everyone was laughing at her fashion faux pas of wearing a hat complete with embellishments which pointed like an arrow to her major defect — her wonky nose.

‘At the moment she is even considering going on Celebrity Big Brother on Five — everyone else on it is incredibly low-rent and she would not even think about it if she had other work coming in.’

If she wouldn't even think about doing Celebrity Big Brother if she had other work offers available then I'd rather she didn't go in.
