Its owner is the editor of the Daily Star. Need I say more. Sensational little tidbits followed by very little substance once you start digging a little bit deeper is what Desmond does best.

Personally, I don't think the line-up is THAT bad.

But surely they would realise the amount of backlash they would get for not having those people.

Maybe some of the bigger names pulled out. And I think having Pamela Anderson and Tara Reid associated will make up for the status of some.

Channel 5 don't have millions reserved for celeb housemates. It's as simple as that.

Desmond is incredibly rich and he's already ploughed a huge amount of money into this, he paid £200m for it, he's increased the prize fund by 5 times to £500,000 and they've reportedly offered near to £1million just for Jedward to be on the show, I don't think it's a case of them having less money than Channel 4 did

Maybe how much he paid for it is true but showbiz figures like the jedward one almost always get exaggerated. Max Clifford himself said he would quadruple the actual earnings of his clients to make them seem more in-demand. Desmond DIDN'T get to where he is by flippantly throwing millions at big name celebs for a show that will be lucky to get two million viewers. All that being said Pamela Anderson and Tara Reid wouldn't have come cheap (and neither are even staying overnight).

They might be slightly exaggerated but the fact remains that it is within his means to pay large amounts of money for celebrities. He wont flippantly throw money around but bringing back Big Brother is his major project and it's success will be hugely important to him, he will get big names in if possible
