The difference is with friends you don't see them almost all day every day 24/7, or do you? So a friendship in the BB house could be built on very quickly and I suppose ended just as quickly as friendships do in real life. So Aaron could well see Alex as a friend in there and even an ally and vice versa. A friendship in that house can be the equivilant to weeks or even maybe months outside that house.
