Was anyone else lucky enough to have a stereo with 2 tapes so you could record from one tape to another? that was as good as it got! you could make your own mix tapes or record them for other people and feel like god!

There was also the horrifying moment when you were taping off the radio and the tape came to the end, so you had to take it out and flip it over to the other side as quickly as possible!!!!

These kids with MP3s and CD burners don't know what they've missed out on ... and thats said as a 22 year old!

Nope, never. I vaguely remember having cassettes in the car when I was like 4 that had kiddy things on them but I don't think I've ever actually owned one.

I had loads.

I used to love sitting recording the charts and trying and failing miserably at missing out the presenters voices to try and make the tape run smoothly

Think the last one I had was the Forrest Gump soundtrack. Wondering now if it's actually tucked in a cupboard somewhere

The worst was when you had the whole song perfectly and then the very last 10 seconds had the bitch saying 'Radio 1' over it and ripping out my soul.

The last tape I bought (I still have it too) was this:

I also just reminded myself of Mark & Lard.

Yeah I suppose even CD's are starting to die out now so it's not all that surprised that some people won't have known of a tape deck. Although that said, my Vauxhall Corse has a tape deck but not a CD player so I still have to use them now

I have a huge pile of CD's and loads in a rack. I was actually gonna pass them on to charity or something. But I listened to one last weekend from the mid 90's and can't bear to part with them now

I actually still use one sometimes when I'm practicing/composing. I used it in an experimental composition I had to do earlier this year as well.
