Exactly. Mr double standards aka Aaron knew the mess he made would have to be cleaned up by some beneathe him cleaner on minimum wage so he had no care as to trashing the task room. HYPOCRITE!

I think the thing that surprised me most was the fact only Aaron found it as bad as I would have of all those in the house, had they been throwing around and destroying cigarettes there would be hell to pay from the smokers.

Objects, toys are different, pillow fights etc too, even perhaps one box of cereal but to have ruined so many is pathetic and their punishment should have been, that I would have given them anyway, no task for a shopping budget this week and only a basic shopping budget given since they seem to have food to throw around.

It's not fun, in this day and time with food prices soaring and people in need here and abroad, it is plainly wrong.

And what is your stance on Lord Harry ordering 500 bananas that would not have been eaten and would have rot in a short space of time. Pray tell?

and yes, in respect of that same scenario: I felt exactly the same when Jay threw the coffee, teabags, sugar etc all into the bins. Exactly the same.

No he ordered them without a seconds thought as to how they'd be eaten when they rot so quickly when stored correctly let alone dumped on a floor piled up on each other in a room and building with varying heat etc.

That IMO was just as wasteful and irresponsible.

I personally don’t care about the mess. To paraphrase an Aaron fan from last week’s toy task - ‘as long as it makes good TV, why should we care about the state of the house?’

Everything makes a difference and it all can be a good difference if people are not wasteful and care enough,if they don't give a hoot for others then that's for them and a different story of course.

This is a bb forum not a charity forum. Thats hitting below the belt to prove a point. Double standards were comitted by all including Lord snooty.

I have already addressed that point in detail earlier in the thread actually.Stored properly they would have lasted over a week easily.

But the large amount ordered meant they couldn't be stored properly they were piled on top of each other squashing the ones underneathe.
It was a cocky ill thought out point begging plan comitted by dumb Harry and resulted in huge amounts of fruit going to waste.

So if you are willing to cover for that behaviour it says it all for me really.

The issues of the thread was the wasting of food by grown adults, not just teenagers but adults, there are people starving and hungry in the world and even in this country too, maybe you are likely not bothered about those people at all but I do have a conscience on that.

It is in my view, quite relevant to point out that food doesn't need to be wasted like that, unopened boxes of cereal being deliberately ruined. What they wasted would have provided some nourishment for homeless people by way of a breakfast, not particularly wholesome food but better than nothing at all.

What on earth do you mean that this is a BB forum and not a charity forum, if the discussion of wasted food and what could have been done better with it that occurred in the 'BB house', then all areas of discussion are opened as to how that could have been done.

Everyone here is in the main talking about the 'BB housemates' on here and 'their' wasting of food, what one earth is your problem with some who have a conscience on the issue saying how that wasted food could have been better disposed of rather than wilfully destroyed by the 'BB housemates'.

I am not covering up for anyone,I said Harry went over the top with 500 bananas, the point I made when I addressed the bananas issue was that you also could do a lot of things with bananas other than just eat them as they are.

The housemates are not just to blame for food going off or being wasted however, as I said to much derision again on here.
However, perhaps if BB didn't throw so many extra meals such as takeaways and drink at them then maybe with 12 housemates far more of those bananas would not have been wasted.

Not covering up at all. I do blame .yes, BB too for the wasted food,I've seen BBs in the past where they had to live on basic budgets for 2 and 3 weeks in a row, wiht very little in the way of takeaways or other speacial treats those weeks, these seem to get something every other night in addition to their shopping budgets.

When people are not made to respect the food they have then that is when real waste begins.

Bananas by the way are in protective skins, being on a floor in a clean stroeroom and stored correctly they would last a week easily anyway. Obviously Jay deliberately stamping on them would have destroyed a fair few of them but that says all about him and nothing about the others who didn't. really.

That's my view. You clearly see no wrong in housemates on BB wasting foodstuffs, I do very strongly, that's the difference between you and I on this then.

I have to say I agree with Aaron for being P*ssed off with the amount of food being chucked about

I didnt agree with it when Jedward did it, I didnt like it when Jay dumped the stuff in the bin & I certainly didnt agree with it when Jay stomped on the bananas.

I didnt like it when Aaron & co threw porridge around, but then it was only a bowl that had already been made up and would have only ended up in the bin but in this economical climate, when people are struggling in life watching a bunch of jumped up nobodys being so disrepectful is just insulting.

I wouldnt tolerate it in my house & wont agree that it just "a bit of fun"

Even my OH (who doesnt watch BB) came down, shook his head & said "Christ what a waste of food - pathetic"

Sometimes people have higher morals than others in life.....

I made my point clear that they were all in the wrong regardless of the amount or quantity. So I do see wrong. What I do not agree with is you trying to cover up Harrys ordering of the bananas as the hms and BB own fault the bananas got ruined.

Like I said double and hypocritical standards.

[QUOTE]

and I totally agree with you - but I think BB should have stepped in and not allowed Harry to ask for so many - they knew they werent all going to be eaten, so should have limited them to around 200

I also agree on your other post however, that ripened bananas can be used for many thing, milkshakes, icecream etc

Also over-ripened ones can be used for baking, so therefore would not have been wasted (except where Jay spitefully trod on them!)

A whole different scenerio than chucking perfectly good BOXES of cereal around which just end up in the bin

But its okay for you to say that I don't see any wrong in food being wasted??

You went into great detail about how the bananas could have been eaten so in saying that you meant they could have been eaten. Everyone doesn't eat or like bananas. Also that was not Harrys intentions when he ordered them he ordered them to get at the hms.

he didn't care how they would be eaten etc.

and I totally agree with you - but I think BB should have stepped in and not allowed Harry to ask for so many - they knew they werent all going to be eaten, so should have limited them to around 200

Wasting food is wasting food. The bananas being wasted lies clearly with Harry. Just as the wasting of the cereal lies clearly with the hms that threw it around.
Regardless of whether BB should have ordered 200 instead of 500 or whether the hms could have made ice cream, milkshakes, baking etc.
