The reason he is liked is because of the demographic of the show, middle aged women fancy Aaron, young girls fancy Jay.
We hate both. Aaron is arrogant supposed to be intelligent he spilled his guts to Jem about how he believes he can manipulate everyone, after he fell for her fake flattery.  Jay is just pure Vulgar, switched us all off when he told Mark it was OK to wee in the sink. In our house we want one of the Girls to win....any one of them.
