Aaron is too savvy not to realise that he is being used as the proverbial, emotional punchbag... but is naturally feeling conflicted by his emotions. He is not qualified either, to be a professional councillor. The onus of lifting Fayes mood was put upon him, but he is out of his depth and Fayes deep rooted issues are not his responsibility.
