.....or maybe JADE FOR THAT MATTER. Sorrry, but apart from week 1 I thought Sophie flatlined, and seemed an obv choice for the bottom 2 even BEFORE Walsh had made his 'secretary' comment. I know she has a few fans on here. To you I say commiserations. And maybe on the night both Janet and certainly Frankie weren't much better. But I ain't surprised she went......not one bit. And would Amelia have done better? Yeah I think she would....

I agree. Tulisa and Gary made some very strange choices.
Gary in particular has shocked me with his awful taste and judging style. Even admitting to praising Frankie who is beyond crap. I don't understand the love for Kitty either. She can belt out a big note but when singing normally she's flat as a fluke. She can't sing whole songs with that one note, it's just noise. |

Amelia would have been a much safer choice at the time, almost a garauntee for final 5 or 6 and probably further. Maybe the producers firstly wanted a shock exit on week 1, and secondly didn't want the possibility of 3 girls (Misha, Amelia and Janet) all possibly getting to the final.
That may also be why they didn't show Sophie's superb bootcamp audition (Skinny Love) which IMO would have made her more popular before the live shows even started. Been an uphill task for Sophie really because no one really knew who she was at week 1 and since then the judges havent been scared of reminding us this or the viewers which is a bit silly. Then they say stupid things like you we do not know you or your personality etc. well how is the audience going to know this anyway? All we know is the music we hear and a 1 minute promo before they sing. Last edited by MusicXian; 31-10-2011 at 09:12 PM. |

The Amelia that we saw in the auditions was awesome. What they did to her in the live shows made her look 30, and that version of Billie Jean, apart from being awful, could have been done on rock week. Amelia could have made top 5 or 6, giving her a few more weeks of public exposure (that worked very well for Diana Vickers, finishing 5th).
All fingers point to Craig winning this year, but then we have another Joe McElderry, and I don't mean gay, I mean nice voice, safe song choices and generally bland. The X Factor was originally designed to find the UK's 'next big star' and Leona is still their best find (and even Leona is finding it hard to sell records in this GaGa/Katy Perry style era). Just watched the 2nd USA live show. Not as good as last week but I love the girl group, they make Little Mix look awful, and the girls over there are brilliant. I know they have 6 times our population but they have a million times the talent. |

Sophie was good but she couldn't really progress any further. She was struggling by week 2. Her style is pretty limited and she sounded the same from start to finish of her time on the show. But she isn't the issue and I don't get why people wanted her to go, Janet is irritating as hell. Kelly should have chosen Misha, Amelia and Sophie.

Kelly should have kept Amelia over Sophie, I found all of Sophie's performances dull, Amelia wouldn't have been in the bottom 2 by week 4 like Sophie was
