I could also argue that we're never truly had a truly capitalistic system. A country where people give up half of what they make in taxes to the government is not a capitalistic country, imho. A country that gives a trillion dollars to the banks just so they can stay afloat isn't a capitalistic one.
The answer is socialism produces more misery, btw.
