Anyway what about the person taking this footage? They were filming without permission from the owners of the tram system and placed the video on Youtube without written permission from those involved.

ERGO this video should not be allowed as evidence, and the person taking it has a case to answer

I don't know what to think about the filming, the person knew putting this online was just going to cause the woman to be arrested which isn't a bad thing but at the same time, they shouldn't really have filmed it/uploaded it anyway.

I raise the issue because of the problems photographers face when certain officials claim it is unlawful to take pictures in a public place and cite terrorism.

Some years back a tourist from the continent was forced to delete all his photos when he was photographing a bus station in London with his son. The officials told him he was not allowed to film anything related to transport as a matter of security

and what about the fact they were infringing the privacy of a minor, i.e the child on her lap. No blurred face there!

Oh true, I understand the woman herself being shown but this was a bit careless, considering people could easily recognise anyone in that video and half of them might not know the video was online until now/some might not know at all.

In today's society with such strong privacy rules this won't end well for the person filming either I think.
