Nothing was said from the X Factor team about it until Wednesday when they announced that this weeks semi final vote as to who gets to the final,it has been decided that all will 'now be decided by the public only'.
People expected that like in any other year it would be decided by the public only but when no announcement came from Dermot or the Judges as to that fact, speculation mounted that there was going to be another sing off, hence the announcement midweek of what was termed as the 'decision to make the vote for the finalists to be only by the public vote'.
The public also in previous years, used to until last year or two also decide who went through to the semi finals from the quarter finals, that changed in the last 2 years,it would seem they were trying to stop it being a public vote only in the semi finals too this year but decided against doing so midweek though not last Saturday or Sunday.

It appears if there is a sing-off, it's a 'fix', and if there isn't a sing-off, it's still a 'fix'. They can't win...how stupid.

You've basically just proven what I said in my last post. This isn't the case at all, there were sing-offs with five acts left in both series 1 and 3, as well as this year. Last year there was a sing-off in the semi-final because there were five acts left, and so as I said it appears this may be the format they're going to stick to from now on. But it is not 'new' and it is not a 'fix', it's been done before, yet people seem to forget this.
