His mother was German, and he spoke mainly German for the first years of his life, but he was raised in England.

It was from when he was on the Howard Stern show, he said he got made fun of in school for being German, cause he lived in a small rural area. I took that to mean he was actually German. Guess not. Learn something new everyday.
