The thing is in the past I have continued a debate in a PM and the person has kept replying to the messages, but then I get accused of spamming the inbox even though they replied the same amount of times.

Also it has happened that the person goes and posts in a chat thread about the whole debate but veered in their favour so it is biased.
If the debates are for all to see people can make their honest opinions on what has been said and then no one gangs up on others based on the proposed truth by the other party. And of course then the mods do nothing because the other person is liked by you lot and without the debate out there for people to see there isn't enough evidence to back it up. Does that make sense?

It is not to belittle others in front of people. I apologise that you clearly see me as a disgusting person who would want to do that but I honestly do not.

Your idea would not go ahead whether you had an army of people lining up behind you or not. The point I was making was it's not just mods who don't agree with it.

I wasn't extremely rude to you at all. I was giving my opinion on an argument thread and why I thought someone would want one. Infact, you have been alot ruder to me and to all the other mods, calling us superior, robots and biassed.

Well the "spamming the inbox" point isn't really a valid one because anyone can just delete any PM's they get

So it seems you kinda want a thread to act as a public battleground, where everyone turns up to watch CharlieO and Salman battle it out in "civil debate"? I don't see it. In fact I'd say that PM is a far better way to iron out your differences than a public thread is, that way you really can just have a one on one discussion over something and avoiding people playing to the gallery, so to speak, and neither side will be trying to get one over on the other person, as far as I see it this idea of yours would turn any kind of civil debate into a public point scoring contest.

I can see how an argument thread would seem like that. However as I have stated it is not a thread where it is just no holds barred surely explains all I want is an ability to not just be cut off all the time which I usually am.

Saying I want an area designated to essentially bullying people is more offensive than calling you what I did. At least I have partial evidence.
