I'll never, ever be able to fathom this barrage of hate directed at so-called 'sluts' and 'slags'. This whole story and the response it's received links in pretty well to it I think.

I've never understood it...what is so bad about sleeping with many people? Like, really? What is it? Just because we've all been brought up to believe it is bad, it doesn't mean it is. It's another socially constructed concept that we have all just bought into...and well why? People enjoy sex...so why should there be a limit on the amount of it you can have? Why do people look down on those who 'sleep around'? What exactly is the big problem with it? That's not to say I agree with cheating - that's an entirely different thing (which I don't agree with), before someone brings that up. So it's not completely linked, but I've never really got my head around why people bandy the terms 'slut' and 'slag' about so much, what's the real problem?

That links into people's problems with Denise getting her tits out, or flashing. Or any other woman (or man) for that reason. Again...what's the big deal? Why is it so utterly wrong and 'disgusting' if someone is to do that, especially if they're considered 'too old'? Like...what difference does it make? Can people not enjoy themselves, have a bit of a laugh, and you know...use their body in whatever way they wish? What business is it of anyone else to look down on somebody for engaging in such actions and behaviour? Why again has everyone just adopted this idea that it's so 'bad' and that people who do it 'embarrass' themselves? Because if anything, I think the people who criticise those for actually enjoying their lives, living it the way they want to live, regardless of their age, are the ones that embarrass themselves. They make themselves look like such uptight, miserable idiots that wish to preach their reserved, prudish attitude to the rest of society. At least people like Denise are proud of their bodies, proud to use it in whatever way they wish, and are willing to have a joke around. Why is that oh such an awful thing? The answer - it's not. People just think it is because that's what they've been brought up to believe. Does that make it right? Of course not.

You. I'd have thought that was pretty evident considering I quoted your post...

I'm afraid it has, as living longer than someone often means you are likely to have had more life experiences. Hell, you've even said that to me before in the past...talk about double standards. It's not always true, and can't always be used as an argument...but here I don't see why it can't.

You expect me to feel sorry for that - or feel compassion? Not a chance in hell mate.
I'm pretty sure most people agreed Michael was right in his comments, it's just the fact that he chose to so nastily air them in front of her and the rest of the house that was the problem. It made great TV however...and I am a Michael fan, or was.

Yeah - for one main reason really, money. And let's not deny that most of us in her position would've accepted the offer, if given it.

Just because she wasn't perhaps 'emotionally able to cope with it', that doesn't mean you can't feel compassion, that's just stupid. At the end of the day...the woman had recently split from her husband, didn't want to discuss it with anyone (which is a choice she is perfectly entitled to, despite what anyone thinks), and so obviously may have been a little sensitive at times, and maybe that's why she got so upset so often. There's no problem with that. And of course, let's not forget the reason which overrides all others here...it made great TV.

Poor wee souls: as if being in hospital isn't bad enough - they have those awful images of the drunken scuttery one forced upon their innocent & unsuspecfting wee eyes, causing them to vomit all over the place. Life is so cruel at times.
I'm pretty sure having to read the abomination that is The Daily Express is more likely to induce illness than anything else. I'd have thought that's a given.
