Why is MTVN the only one being praised for individuality?

Well he was the only one who did vote who voted for a different party to the others who did,of course that is their choice and I respect their and everyones right to vote for whoever they wish.

I always had a hope we may have seen your vote for us somehow but we got votes from members I didn't think we would and that really encouraged us.
That is elections though, swings and roundabouts.

I can say now that the election is over, I would have liked to have seen your party get through to the election stage and was surprised you didn't.I think you deserved to.

Well done to JF and Joey on a good fight, fairly fought. Although they didn’t win this time, they did come in second to a party full of mods. I don’t say that in a critical way (really, I don’t… oh okay, slightly critical…), I say it because they gained a lot of support by the sheer volume of people who they know and interact with every day. So in comparison the Coalition’s result goes some way to show what a great pair of guys Joey and JF are.

A mention in despatches for MTVN, the mod who stood alone.

Thanks Kate for hosting this, it was really good fun, and not one fight. Amazing!

Finally, I’d like to quote that old wag, Mark Twain, who could have written this line for the Coalition: It is better to deserve honours and not have them than to have them and not deserve them. Well done lads.

Thanks for that Livia,

I'd have liked this to have gone without asking people for votes but erm... I guess that's how every TiBB game goes now -takes no comfort from this victory; moves to Japan and forms own political party-

Cheers Suze. I'll do it again next year if people want it.

Any suggestions for rules will be taken into account.

How do people feel about all agreeing not to canvass via walls or pm next time?

As I said before I would like some way of not knowing,if it was possible to do on tibb, the voting as it goes on, until the polls closed or the day before the polls closed.

I think canvassing is fine and is part of elections, some people are not that interested in things like an election but would like to support other members doing it.

There are a fair few games, for instance, I personally don't take part in but am happy to throw my votes for someone or others that are taking part.
Sometimes too, members pop on the forum sometimes just to check messages whatever, they may miss the whole event biut a simple message sent asking if they have any interest and would like to could they support such and such in the particular thread.

If it's called an election, then canvassing is part of elections but repeatedly asking for votes should not be the norm, just the one simple pm or visitor message and left at that from each candidate/party whatever the next election is planned to be.

Rules don't have to stringent, just as you outlined originally in my opinion,as I said before though,I interpreted the original plan of this to be that tibb was the constituency, candidates had to be nominated, then get elected as an MP for Parliament by tibb members. However I think the party thing was better than a candidate so I hope that would the format.

What happened was though, policies got branded about, candidates became parties and a full blown 'fun' election was set off wth a mind of its own.
It's why I chose to go down the national policy route more than about the workings of tibb. Wheras in future elections can be stressed to only be about matters tibb, not national serious issues such as some things we had, or abolishing the monarchy for instance like others had.

I have loved it, like Suze, I wished it had been longer, members had to plan and work together and I got to communmicate with some members in a way I hadn't before and that's a really good thing.

Good luck Kate for next year if you decide to do it again and also a big thank you,I felt a bit worn out as at times it felt like a Uni assignment.Working through the night planning a manifesto and sending pms to and fro with JF. Great, really great.

It's been great fun and thanks for the people that voted for us and campaigned for us,and it's been great working with Joey.

And well done on your victory LaBear,my competitive side always comes out in competitions but now I can calmly say that the majority got what they wanted.

Oh and well done to The Piddles Party, you put up a respectable fight.

Missed this ( damn work ) but feel the need to point out that even without the 'mod vote' labear would still have won

Anyway, congrats to all. Everyone managed to get a good amount of support

True if they hadn't voted at all but had they voted elsewhere, some other party may have. I wondered where you had gone Vicky.

It still has been a great fun thing, bringing members together and working together, even with a bit of seriousness in it which always happens when people get competitive but as many have pointed out and very unusual anywhere on tibb in near most things, there was not one single argument. No mod ever had to say a thing as to any guidance or warning of behaviour as to a single post or poster.

That is a fantastic achievement for Kates fun election, in my view anyway.

Got my parents coming to stay for Easter at the house I am in while at Uni, dreading my Dad, I mentioned I was in a fun election on the forum I was on, to which he said a politics student should walk that so he looks forward to seeing what I have said and how big our win was.
His motto is, there are no prizes for failure and if you lose you fail. Aagh.

Can this thread be hidden until after Easter please.
Just joking, I will blame a low turnout. He will be pleased me with me,.......I think.....

Indeed and that of course being your right to,I would support that stance anywhere, all I was pointing out and just saying though, was that in response to 'without the mod votes LaBear would have won anyway'. While that was correct had most mods not voted anywhere else either but obviously had any of them or just a few felt they could have voted elsewhere, LaBear may not have, I was not in any way inferring that LaBear should not have won obviously.

We have this all the time at Uni in competitive political assignments and all harmless banter. No bad inferences whatsoever.

Yes same. Tbh I didn't take this whole thing serious and I don't think you should, considering nothing is going to come of it. A bit of fun.
