No.... but when I first had my veneers fitted - they were a smidgen too long - not only did I have a lisp - trying to say 'th' was a nightmare - zzttthhhirrty zzthhhrreeee - a quick trim and all sorted. Embarrassing as well as funny at the time though.

This is a serious question that I have always wondered, and I know its going to sound ridiculous...but

Can irish people not actually say th? Or is replacing it with t just how they talk?

(think Im gunna regret asking this somewhere along the lines )

lol, well I have my own theory on it. Our accents were designed for speaking Irish and in Irish there is no sound like the English th, in Irish th is pronounced like a h only the T is silent

That's not a scientific explanation, just my logic

I can pronounce Th but it's a real effort to do it so I don't bother mostly

How strange...I cant imagine not being able to make a th sound, but then again Im not irish

We used to have bingo on in gavs dads pub, and the caller was irish and whenever thirty three(or all the trees tirty tree) came out the whole place applauded her

lol, I tried making a Th sound just then and the only way I could was if I put on an English accent

Years ago, in about 2003. Not anymore, though - far too self-consious for that sort of thing these days.
