To an extent everything's overrated and not as good as it's made out to be. People expect and anticipate too much.

I think everyone I have come across,past and present has made at least some recordings I liked, even Cheryl Cole but I would say she for me is massively overrrated.

All of their albums have gone to #1 on the UK albums chart. Evidently it's not just me but I agree, they are overrated if you look at that statistic, it is a bit of a joke. I do love them though.

It's hard to answer the OP... there are lots of musicians I don't listen to because I dislike their music but I think they're talented too, just not my cup of tea. I'd agree with Nirvana being overrated. As far as I'm concerned, Smells Like Teen Spirit is an incredibly overrated song and I think they've been elevated to this ridiculous level of popularity because of Kurt Cobain's death.
