Conor's outrageous outburst aside (tough as it is to put something that shocking aside), he's just one of those idiots that thinks he knows it all. His all seeing eye sees through to peoples souls so he doesn't even have to speak to them.
There is definitely something about Deana that has made several of them comment on her value system. The other night she wished her supporters happiness and wealth. Why would I wish you wealth if you had happiness? I also remember Adam's comment about the Kayne West song being ideal for her. She probably thinks about money more than most people. But, what's wrong with that? In my experience it's often a mark of a very hardworking and enterprising person who appreciates the value of money and how hard it is to come by. She might wish to pursue wealth, but as long as she doesn't hurt others in doing so - I see no problem in that. Eventually she will realise that happiness is all any of us need anyway. But she'll only learn that in her own time.
What is most objectionable therefore is the irrational hatred of her, because her value system reminds them of how mercenary they are. As if Conor and Luke S don't want money. They've each admitted as much. Then Conor has the audacity to think he's better than Deana and base his asessment of her on one part of her character.
He needs to wake up and grow up. He'll never experience the joys of life if he spends all of his days writing off people who may see things differently to his false ideal of himself. And all of that is leaving aside his infamous comments. Once you take them, and his failure to show any remorse, regret or shame for them, into account, he certainly becomes much much more unlikeable. To use a cliche - He should be ashamed. So why the hell isn't he?
