As for imitating "a black or asian accent", what the hell is one of those? Colour of skin does not denote accent and this is reflected in the very sensible observation that if you mimic Deana (the person, as opposed to her race as a whole which would encompass a variety of accents) it shouldn't be offensive as long as it sounds like her, but if you target what you feel are her origins and attempt an indian accent, then it is not her you are mocking. It's her race.
I'm chuffed someone has stood up for the Scots as well, as bigotry isn't only targeted at black and asian people. It's a means of belittling any minority/majority group.
