I found a lot of your post hard to follow but I do sense passion. Passion for an opposite point of view to that my own on Political Correctness.

I think we have perhaps an opposing understanding of the term. Which has more to do with acceptance and inclusion at best and tolerance at worst. IMO
You also made a lot of assumptions about my views in general.
Unchallenged bigotry leads to concentration camps and death. PC is a great challenge to such ignorant and foolish behaviour. I prefer it.

We watch the show because its suppose to depict the personalities and interactions of a group of strangers. It is a reality TV show and not everyone will conform to socially accepted norms. This does reflect real life. However, when behaviour is unacceptable are you demanding that BB idly stand by as there are idiots in the outside world as well? There's also illicit substance misuse, domestic violence, hate crime, sexual assault and murder. Were these to be realistically reflected in the house, would that also be good reality TV and should BB alsv stay out of it? Noone is saying don't speak about the issue of bigotry. I'm pretty sure that us what BB is doing when the issue arises.
As for those claiming that political correctness is at the root of genocide, I am sure that prejudice is a key factor. However, attempts to address prejudice are often ignored by stubborn, pig-headed replies of "you're being too sensitive", "you're being too PC", and "you make it so people can't have a laugh anymore". When people have been enslaved, hunted and killed, dehumanised and have had to fight to gain the equality they deserve, they will be sensitive, and justifiably so. Who are you to decide that due to your vast life experience "all that doesn't matter now" and sweep it under the carpet?

It had nothing to do with accents, it was simply commenting on how she ate, she lives in india and they do eat with their fingers...
BB were a little jumpy, maybe they sounded as if they were mocking, but thats it.

I'm with those who find conor and carolines systematic abuse much more offensive.

I think it's possible that we didn't see the full lot of what went on. It's one thing to comment on how a certain culture eats but it's quite another to act disgusted because of it.

I think it's possible that we didn't see the full lot of what went on. It's one thing to comment on how a certain culture eats but it's quite another to act disgusted because of it.

I think it was the pure disdain more than anything. And the stereotyping, and the fact he didn't give a damn really annoyed me.
