You're right. To go back to the original point, I don't think mike is fully aware of Julian's disdain for a few reasons: Mike is genuinely a bit slow and Julian's remarks go over his head, Mike is also pretty full of himself and not really in tune with other people; a lot of what Julian says about Mike is actually behind his back - I quite like Julian but he is pretty sneaky.
