the article clearly says it was the chef's penis, which was surgically removed by a professional doctor in a real hospital.

It is strange because usually they use the penis to create the new vagina in a sex reassignment surgery, so i'm assuming he didn't actually get reassignment surgery, he just got his penis removed. I guess he just wants to be a eunuch.
