I've deleted Safari off her ipod and replaced it with a child safe search engine and I've set all her music, apps, film downloads to just her age group, so I feel a bit more relaxed about it all. However, I can't make all mums do the same and it worries me what they may see when looking for stuff like this.. I'm pretty sure that a search for "naked butts" could come up with some explicit stuff.

The internet is a wonderful place, but man, its a worry for us parents! What's the best thing to download for my laptop to atom them seeing anything untoward?

My son is 8, he won't be getting a phone or anything that can access the internet till he's a bit older. I do allow him on the lap top but at the kitchen table where I can see what he's doing. I doubt I'd have anything to worry about though, he closes his eyes if people even kiss on TV

She knows what they all mean and she has a younger brother su is quite fascinated by "dinkles" I just don't want her to type something in and be faced with something she shouldn't be seeing.

Lol.. one of my customers in the pub checked his sons history (he was older, maybe 12 or 13) and he had been looking for "big tits and hairy fannies"
If I remember correctly, he didn't mention it at all as he thought it was completely natural... which I agree with to a certain extent, but 8 is just too young in my opinion

That's what I mean though Niamh.. we can monitor what they're seeing at home, but what about when they're with friends who have internet access with no restrictions?

I remember getting caught searching up porn because i didnt know the internet even had a history..ah the good old days of being able to just fap off to a picture that took 15 minutes to load, dial up
But yeah dont have a sit down serious conversation with them. thats what my mum did and it was so embarressing, it makes me feel ill even thinking about it. just be casual about it and dont make them sit down

Nah, I just casually mentioned it on the way home from school.. I didn't say I had been snooping, I said her dad had received an email saying that she had been looking up rude words... she wasn't embarrassed or anything, she just laughed her head off about "naked butts" It's all perfectly acceptable to her to look for funny/rude pics but she has no idea what she could actually see! She was actually more upset when I teased her about the Zayn thing... she actually burst into tears
