At stand-up comedy, not so much...
However, in terms of writing and acting - particularly in the states - women are equal if not superior. Amy Poehler is probably the best person alive right now. Love Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lena Dunham (&all of 'Girls'), Aubrey Plaza, Jo Brand, Kerry Godliman, Joanna Scanlan, Tamsin Grieg... Oh, and Jenna Maroney is the best character on TV right now.
