Doors should close at 12, but I'm sure they have the right to refuse service to anybody.

That woman is a twat. There was absolutely no need to get physical with the guys, even if they were a tad annoying. There would be utter hell on if it had been a male manager grabbing at a teenage girls phone...
Anyway. I have worked in fast food shops and we always served until the advertised closing time. A manager stood at the door turning people away after closing time, but literally 10 seconds could make all the difference to if you got served or not We used to close off the seating area an hour before closing so as not to have stragglers who took forever to eat. If they close at 11.45..they should say that.

I think she was within her rights as manager to refuse them and ask them to leave the property. As soon as they didn't leave they were trespassing.
And I bet it's because they were drunk that brought out that passive aggressive streak in them. |

She was told that she had to tell them to leave, rather than someone else doing it themselves. All I see is a woman trying to do her job and mouthy/arrogant teenagers trying to cause trouble. Any mature person would leave upon seeing the restaurant was closed... if they wanted to ask questions, they could have gone about it politely. I'm sure they were causing **** before they started recording everything anyway.
im not saying its okay for her to hit them, but god, i'd want to do the same.

Difficult one this, all involved seem like morons apart from that poor bloke standing behind her in the doorway.
I'd imagine they didn't want to serve them because they wanted to actually shut at midnight, not finish serving then. By stopping service before that that means they have time to clean up and close on time, and at the end of the day if she's been told not to serve anyone else that's the bottom line of it, not much she can do about it. We've all been in the situation where we want some food but serving time is over, you just have to move on. I was in the Chinese takeaway just before 3am the other week after a night out and went to order chips but the bloke told me their licence was now over and I needed to leave, this was right after my friend had just ordered hers...I contested it but they weren't going to budge, I'm hardly going to start a scene...it's some ****ing chips. Getting physical with them was out of order though and really quite petty, I'd send this video to the police if I were them. Unprofessional and uncalled for, I'm sure if they'd have hit her back she'd have gone apesh*t. Also got a bit fed up with her calling them 'kids', stereotypical and discriminatory. Having said all of that the fact they were filming this in the first place in a bid to try and intimidate her really is quite pathetic and I don't think it's acceptable either, she's not a public servant, she's a fast food employee. So like I said, I'd suggest they send this video to the police so she can be done for assault and so that they can be done for trying to intimidate her and the situation. Morons, the lot of them. |
