im not shocked by this, soldiers are always a target.

A 43-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of attempted arson after reportedly walking into a mosque with a knife in Braintree, Essex.

Local MP Brooks Newmark said on this Twitter account: "Local mosque in Braintree attacked by man with knives and incendiary device. Man arrested. No one injured.

"Just met with leaders of local mosque in Braintree which was attacked this evening. Thanked local police for their swift response."

Essex Police confirmed a 43-year-old from Braintree had been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and attempted arson after the incident in Silks Way at 7.15pm.

Meanwhile police in Kent were called to reports of criminal damage at a mosque in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, at 8.40pm.

no im not shocked livia its no different to teenage gangs running round the streets stabbing another school kid to death!

To be honest a school kid getting shot or knifed in broad daylight would shock me. This was so much more barbaric though. They butchered and hacked at this guy after running him over, and were so blahzé about it, wanting their "message" to get across via media...

I feel really sad for this Soldiers family, this is a disgusting and completely unacceptable thing to happen.

I am also dismayed with the press too, showing this rotten individual on their front pages,that is exactly what these people want.
I just cannot imagine what the family of this Soldier must now be going through, yes, being a Soldier is a dangerous career but to be in his own country,they must have felt he was safer and then to have this brutal and barbaric end to his life.

Heh. That twist to that story is such a load of bollocks. He lay dying from wounds from the night before but managed to write out a suicide note with god knows what, in the pitch black, that they didnt happen to find (despite searching the boat) until quite recently
