Yea, it is pretty bad, which is unfortunate since the show's premise is great. I will give season 2 a chance to see if they fixed some of the problems, but if they didn't I don't think I'll stick around for long.

Yes, I thought the concept was great, but the characters just felt like they were going round and round without really achieving anything.

I thought he was quite likable in a strange sorta way in S3, especially towards the end. I think probably because he was one of few interesting characters that series. I agree with you in regards to S1 though!

Yes I can relate to that. It was during the beginning of the season when he attacked Glenn & Maggie where he was a true badass, but towards the end I had some sympathy for the character.

I had hoped they would keep him alive, if anything to cause more mayhem in Rick's group.

It would have been amazing to have both Daryl & Merle by Rick's side.

If were talking villains he did make a good one! Im completely with you there in bold too Visage although becareful of spoilers

I think the confusion a while back where I listed the most hateful characters wasn't a thumbs down to those characters or actors, in fact most of them are my favourite characters, they are (imo) the driving force in their own shows.

I was trying to answer the OP question and not just slamming the characters.
