No surprise that Callum has befriended the youngest/most vulnerable HM in Sam. He needs to be needed and no-one else is buying into it.

I'd say that's a spot-on assessment. Callum is a sinking ship and is continually becoming more cringeworthy with each passing day. When he was doing his role of the Psychologist, I couldn't help but be reminded of a young Patrick Bateman... so capable of seamlessly sliding into whatever character persona that suits his interests at any given time.

He's got sociopathic tendencies if I've ever seen it... and I--my friend--am a pretty good judge of character.

I do think their friendship is genuine, but it's true that the others are not buying into his nicey nice persona.

I believe it's genuine on Sam's part because he's young and naive. I think Callum is being opportunistic. That's not to say that there's NO WAY Callum is being genuine in his friendship... I just find it highly unlikely... lol.

True. I do wonder if they would be friends on the outside. Sam is a lot younger.

If I had to call it, I'd say that initially it'll be Sam that pursues the friendship, post BB... and if Callum is a legitimate friend at all then he will carry on... but again, I don't see it happening. I think Callum is seeking solace wherever he can... (i.e. a young, impressionable, geographically isolated (and therefore sheltered) man).
