Afghanistan's history is laced with great empires and armies swooping in to take advantage. Right now it's the USA, maybe in the future it will be China. They have a problem with terrorists and it's being tackled by the USA. Some might say they only have terrorists because they've been subjected to so many bigger nations invading their territory. US tackled it? US caused it for their own purpose, they don't give crap about the afghan people.

Maybe they don't give a crap about the Afghan people and maybe they did directly or indirectly cause the Taliban to come into existence; but as things stand at the moment, they're trying to sort out the mess they created (whether or not there are ulterior motives has not been proven) rather than just abandoning it after an abortive attempt at peace keeping. They're doing their best.
