Rise was definitely the best story but Christ I don't watch Skins for a mini horror film so was a bit taken aback

Strange ending really though I did like the use of Cook's voiceovers again, that was quite effective

I'm still hoping they do a film or something, Jamie Brittain (creator and writer) was hinting on Twitter earlier that Skins isn't totally finished when people were asking him if this was the end

Also...what the **** was

Spoiler:

that random scene with Cook talking to Jason (the guy that died) about?! That didn't even make sense and wasn't explained, like what was the point in that

To be honest if they were going to have a ghost scene like that then surely the obvious choice would've been to have Cook talk to Freddie?! That would've been the perfect surprise actually, oh well

It was a dream, it cut to him twitching in his sleep.

Woulda been an amazing surprise if it was Freddie, really thoughtful, but nah.

Spoiler:

Oh I got that it was a dream, I just didn't understand what the point of it was, like what exactly was it supposed to symbolise or suggest? It wasn't like when there was the ghost scenes with Grace throughout series 6 that actually had some kind of meaning, this one just felt a bit flat to me but then I guess Karl's explanation is probably the right one

The one thing I did like about Rise and I said this last week is that at least it was a continuation of where Cook left off, and somewhat of a resolution to his story after what happened with Foster. I mean they totally ignored Effy's mental health problems that she had and only briefly referenced Sid so I was glad that this actually continued the story somehow though it would've been nice for them to
Spoiler:

actually end it for once...like was he going to keep on running or turn himself into the police

I have a feeling they may have left it open ended just in case they get a chance to work with him again, Cook is Jamie Brittain's favourite character he's created

Ah fair enough, yeah I would say it symbolizes that Cook is always on the run

I enjoyed Cook's episodes the most also, which is funny because I always found him a very overrated character. He was just an exaggerated version of a young thuggish lad but theyd really developed and matured his character for season 7, Id like to see more of him in the future. What I also liked is that the supporting characters were much more purposeful (Emma, Charlie and Louie) compared to Effy's and Cassie's (bar the girl she lived with).

What Skins 7 failed to bring was an overly happy ending for any of the characters. We had Effy go to prison, Naomi die + Emily left devastated, Cook on the run and Cassie sort of found herself but was just lumped with her brother in London still. I really think that she should have ended up with Sid, or the girl on the iPad and the guy had been looking for Cassie all this time as she was 'perfect' for a role in a top-end drama production they are carrying out, with the ending scene her all dressed up for a really 'classy' part (Hannah ).

Sounds like I haven't missed out on anything then. I might re-watch Series 1-4 soon, it was fantastic television while it lasted.
