Anyway, just to cover all bases (before I go to BWA) what about this..?

Jackie is not Charlie's mother. They never met until they walked down the stairs. Charlie was wrapped in swaddling clothes and left on the doorstep (she was 21 at the time) of Gina - who was known then as Derek Dinckle (the man with no sprinkle) who was so incapable of compassion that he left the changeling Charlie on the doorstep and went to Peru to become a woman called Gina. Meanwhile Callum who could see Charlie was in danger rescued her and took her to live with The Quins (yes there are really four of them and they interchange two by 2 every night) who noticed she was deaf and so took her to Sam who resided at the Hearing School for Waifs and Strays. He taught Charlie how to hear as well as he could and they both went on to enrol at the No Trophy Sophie Charm School and there they completed their further education prior to their marriage in 2012. Dan (a policeman of some repute) decided on a career change and went into TV where he bumped into the newly formed Derek aka Gina. He introduced Gina to Deck Star a recalcitrant Sailor from Dublin who was married to Hazel a PR Guru (also from Dublin). Enter Sallie Battle-Axl - a formidable woman who's mantra involved telling it as it was...It was dire - and she told them...Wolfy (complete with a recumbent Thresher Shark in her leg) rocked up and winked her eye (the sighted one) at Sallie Battle-Axl who shook her hoof (the cloven one) back at Wolfy and an alliance was formed. Jemima called them all into her dating agency (they all just happened to be passing at the same time) and told them she could get them all a gig on a TV programme provided they were all able to lie convincingly...The rest is misery...
