New series started last night.


Oh how I love this show. I love that there is always a nicely diverse set of contestants. And I like that the show is interspersed with little segments of food history.

I like the little conversations between Paul and Mary about the contest (loads of double entendres ) and I like the presenters, Mel and Sue...I also like watching the baking. It gets really tense at times.

But mainly, I like the screwups *grins*

In last nights round, there wasn't a lot of doubt who was going to go...he'd messed up his sandwich cake, and his showstopper was not very good, but his biggest mistake was when he used salt instead of sugar in the angel food cake...

I love it.

I literally gasped when the guy used salt instead of sugar. It's just such a big deal in this show.

Nothing beats the tension and drama of watching someone move a cake around. I get so scared they'll drop it.

Also, Ruby is a bit of a moody cow.

Some of those cakes were outstanding, especially for a first show.

The squirrel cake was awesome. And what about the chocolate bear and forest? How magnificent was that?

That was pretty awesome yeah, I can see the two older guys and the scientist being another all-male final three.
