I noticed he was very complimentary about Charlotte. Given all the threads in here about what an appalling example she is of da yoot of today , it was nice to see a man of his generation seeing her strengths.

I liked Ron at beginning and hoped that he would prove he is not the bigot that the media made him out to be but, alas, the longer he stayed in the House the Bigot Ron began to show. What put me off him was the way he spoke to Dustin - in a manner that you would expect him to speak to one of his football players (who wasn't doing well in the first half) in the dressing room. Ron went completely down in my estimation and I was very pleased to see the back of him.

I'm pleased for Ron!...but disappointed at the state of the voter's morals!...Keeping that Charlotte creature in there is nothing less than a big stinky stain on the state of the great british public's reputation!

And yet, he seemed to like and respect Charlotte.

If it was really about morals you wouldn't be watching a show this trashy in the first place.

Disappointed but it was expected he would go.
He was a calming influence in the house. Thought he came across really well in his interview and on BBBOTS. Smart guy who was lived a full successful life, with a lot of wisdom to impart. Far more open minded, kind and fair than half the people who scream 'bigot' at him at every given opportunity. Like i always say - far more prejudice TOWARDS Ron than there is coming FROM Ron. Glad he got such a good exit from the crowd. Last edited by Lord Of The Garden; 31-08-2013 at 11:45 AM. Reason: spelling error |

I'm not sorry to see him go. I would have liked Charlotte to be the one to go but that was never going to happen

Good for you. As shocking as it maybe, some people watch to be entertained and if they don't watch it for the same reasons as you it says nothing about their reputation or morals.

I always watch it to see if good morals win too. That's why its a social experiment.

Back in the day maybe. It's way to manipulated to be a social experiment now.

Who knows what their true morals are?
Sometimes we can only judge them when they are dead. Mr Savile is an extreme example. |

No, Rolf Harris is an extreme example. Jimmy always had kids on his knees, and a freaky nature. I was slightly suspicious of him as a kid.

Take whatever example you like, but we know very little about these people's morals in reality.

The winners have nearly always been nice on the show, is what I mean. You watch a movie, and the bad guy hardly ever wins.

I don't mind them being nice..... but do they have to be boring?
E.g. BB14........ and, actually, not all that sure about the "niceness" of the winner of that series. |

Read more We caught up with last night's evictee, Ron Atkinson, before his appearance on tonight's Big Brother's Bit On The Psych, and had a quick chat about his first day of freedom... What have you been doing since you left the House? Erm, last night we had a few glasses of champagne after the show, and a couple of toasted sandwiches. Today, press conferences and a photoshoot, and then got here way too early! Have you had a chance to catch up with all your family? Yeah..well, I haven't seen my wife yet, but I've spoken to her. I've just had lunch with some friends who live near here. More importantly, have you had a chance to catch up on the football? No! Not yet! Wait, well, I have, yeah. The ones I missed. Yeah. Is there anything, or anyone, you miss about the House? No. Hahaha! In a nutshell, nah! So you're happy to be out? Yeah, always happy to be out. Anyone who says they're not is kidding people! But it was, erm, yeah, there were some good times. What was your highlight in the House? Without a shadow of a doubt, when Bruce had his altercation with the fish!I couldn't stop laughing at that. After that I kept saying there was a new play called The Codfather, and everything had a fish connotation! Was it Bruce that you got on with most in the House? Oh, Bruce, he shares my sense of humour. Bruce, Vicky, and I got on with the two kids. Well, three kids, and, well, Abz isn't a kid. I got on well with Abz. Charlotte and Mario seemed to look up to you, a bit. They were great kids, I think. Great kids. Charlotte can be...but yeah...she's nice! It was fun. They're both good. Who do you think will be up for eviction next? I say Sophie. I've just got a feeling that Sophie is. One or two people have started to, maybe, get a bit frictional with her. And finally, who do you want to win? Mario or Abz. Thanks, Ron! |
