Complete disgrace, would understand a bit more if it was like 2p but 5p is a rip off

I will have to get it delivered in a big dirty diesel van for free instead of paying 5p per bag to carry it home myself.

We've had this for years now. It's a good idea.

Good, don't see an issue with it.

I thought that initially when it came here but it actually makes sense. You don't get people taking a bag for the sake of it.. I mean if you bought a carton of milk they used to give you a bag.

Yet when we get home deliveries they've packed the shopping practically 1 bag per item almost.

If they wanted to be environmentally friendly, they would get rid of them altogether.

Really? I've never had my shopping delivered thought it came in reusable crate things?
They will have to re think that then.

Never had shopping delivered in bags it's always in plastic boxes that they take away with them again.

Yeah same. We have it all in those crates and empty them and give them back. Though my mum did pinch one of them once

Maybe it depends on the supermarket?

Ours is carried to the door in crates that they take away but all the shopping in the crate is packed into bags and none of them are anywhere near full.

We had a kitchen cupboard overflowing with them until my mother gave them all to the driver during one delivery.

I recall them doing this many years ago when I was in London. I think places like Asda must have trialed this but nothing ever came of it. It did then get me into a habit of taking my own bags with me when shopping and I have done so for many years now. It's no hardship.

bad idea - next they will be charging us for the air we breath - don't you feel we pay over the odds for our shopping anyway ?

I can actually remember the time we went to the shops with shopping bags or trollies.

At the moment it is optional as to if you get food packed in bags or not on home deliveries.
I have had it sent without, rang up to complain and had the delivery charges waived.

I use the bags as bin liners in the kitchen.

If we go to little shops or the market we always take our own bags.
Some lovely bags out there nowadays.
