Default How much would you pay someone to clean your house?

Serious question.
If you were working full time and didn't have time to clean your house. How much would you be prepared to pay a cleaner (or 2 cleaners) to come and do the hard work for you?

I have a cleaner, once a week. £50 a month.

I'm related to said cleaner though, an agency would be much more expensive.

£50 a month that's not much, how many hours do they do for that?

I wouldn't want a cleaner. I'm quite protective of my own space.

I would pay a cleaner £20/£25 a week to come and do 3 hours.

My sister in law pays way more than that.

Depends on where you live.
If you are doing the same work for an agency now, you could probably add another third to your hourly wage.

Bless you for answering Niamh... I was beginning to think no one could see my posts today! I feel cleansed.

My Mum had a cleaner for a while when we were at school because she worked full time like my Dad. But it was pointless. She used to say she had to hurry up and get home because the cleaner was coming the next day and she wanted to make sure the house was all neat and tidy.

She has rather a large house, has two ladies come in once a week through the agency and it is about £70 I think. They work 3/4 hours and do windows etc as well. This is in the North East and would probably cost way more down South.
You might be abler get some info on google.
Good luck with the business, I did the exact same thing when my kids were at school. I tended to clean for teachers and refused to work in the school holidays.

Before my relative said that she would do it, I employed an agency for about 3 weeks. A major pain in the ass. They would only do a certain amount of hours and nothing less. They would moan about anything and everything and would flat out refuse to do certain things/rooms. I think I had them to come once every 10 days or so. But they would only to about 5 hours a time minimum, or something stupid. Think I was being charged £60+ a month.

5 hours a time is a joke really, I live in a flat. My relative does it all in about 90 minutes. She must have been sat here drinking coffee and watching TV all morning.

That's funny but yeah i would be a bit like that too I think I'd be mortified if someone called and the house was a mess even if it was the person who was being paid to clean it lol

Im in the north east, Newcastle. I know what the agency charges who I work for but then I also know what I do in the 2 hours Im given and its mainly just the basics without windows etc. Like I say it will be 2 of us so wont take as long. I guess Il have to see what the house is like, what she wants done and how often. it might be weekly which would be fab, fortnightly or monthly. Ive had a look online and the only agency that gives a price is the one I currently work for. I have a friend who does it herself she has done for 7 years now, but shes not much help to me, just says depends on the size the house etc

That's ridiculous the agency I work for its a minimum of 2 hours. A flat yes Id say easy 2 hours @ the most depending on the size of the flat. Id never refuse to do a room.

Mizzy I would say about 7 to 8 pounds an hour would be a reasonable rate.
