Even going to look at them can stress out the mother and then she'll either kill them herself as a survival tactic or she'll stop producing milk and the poor buggers will starve. Either way, they eat them to stop the smell from attracting predators.

MALE rabbits will kill the babies for giggles, and need to be kept away at all costs. Nasty!
