If he asks to meet again, suggest meeting in the same pub, ask for him to order the same drink you had and the same meal, it might click with him that you are not being let down twice and if its doensn't he it out 20 quid so job done. Wouldn't go round to his place as he suggests as you need to be careful and he sounds like a liar.

Yeah, I'd be wary of going to his place, sounds like he is aware that you could be infatuated with him and he likes to play you.

I once took a girl to a gig (ON MY BIRTHDAY), paid for her, got her travel, only for once we got her for her to ditch me and go find her boyfriend that I didn't know existed, and leading up to it for weeks I thought we liked each other, I'm not sure if that's better or worse than your situation....don't worry about it

Conzors, that is a pretty sad event you had to put up with,I never give advice to anyone really but one thing I thought was if he had a genuine reason not be there on time or at all then he could have rang the pub and left a message for you.

Furthermore all I would say is be wary and I agree with the others who have said,only meet him in a public place until you feel you can be sure of him,that is if you intend to maybe risk going through that again.

Obviously I don't know how you really feel about the guy (he better be bloody good looking 'cause sounds like his personality sucks), but if I was in your position, I would not be going around to his. I'd just blank him 'cause there's bound to be someone better for you. If that's how the relationship was starting then you probably don't want to bother with the rest of it.

I don't know you personally, but I feel 100% confident in saying you deserve better.

Reading back over the OP again, it seems such a strange thing to do to ask someone you are meeting for the first time to order you dinner and a drink (has he memorised the menu!), could it not wait until he got there

and if he was genuine would he not have offered to pay for the uneaten dinner at some point when he got his cards reissued (I assume his wallet was also taken in this mugging..).
