Name: Mariya Komarova

Crime: Cat burglary (and since I don't think you'd be imprisoned for that, let's say you dismembered them and sent body parts to the owners to taunt them)

Mariya moved to the UK and lived in Glasgow since 1989 with her mother, father and 2 sisters. Her father decided that the girls should be homeschooled and that, once 16, they should move out and find husbands. Her sisters only had to wait weeks to find boyfriends but Mariya was neither very pretty nor very confident; in fact, she much preferred to stay in her room and read books on zoology and biology. She went to college to study the latter subject and then took a course at university, where she kept to herself and didn't believe in partying or drinking. She graduated with a 2:1 and felt ashamed - by now she'd cut off all ties with her parents and rented a small flat with funds she saved from working in a library. One Sunday afternoon, a cat wandered into her window and something in her thought she'd like to do a couple of experiments. She trapped it in a box and quickly broke its neck before doing a little bout of surgery on the poor moggy. A week later she chanced upon a "missing" sign and saw that it belonged to a woman who lived up the road who was always rude to her on the bus. She took one of the cat's paws and sent it to her in the post. She did this with a couple of other local pets before a man living in the flat above her complained to the landlord about the smell coming from below. The landlord, a rather cocksure fellow, stormed in without any warning and interrupted her using a scalpel on a rabbit from 2 blocks over. She was arrested and tried for harrassment of 3 local pet owners, greivous animal harm and being a general dick, pleading guilty and being sentenced to 2 years in prison.

The Killer's Motive, & Where She Could've Been Caught

Here, I'll explain why Niamh. made the decision to kill you all off, by the process of a bit of a history lesson. I'll also reveal which clues I dropped into the bits of writing, into my own avatar and personal status, and anywhere else. All decisions made by Niamh. were done over Facebook chat, since I didn't want to risk her being caught PMing me all the time like poor MTVN did in ICB3 So, without further ado...

Task One - *Kate* vs. Braden
It was the very start of the game, and Ammi'd stumbled into becoming team leader. This task was where I became a Clefairy for 2 days, and gave you all strict posting instructions to post in either left, right or center. But whilst I changed my avatar to this little fella:

You might have missed the fact that I also changed my custom member title. To "you've gotta see her". Now, none of you will have known character names at this point, but any old music fan can tell you that's the line that follow's Blondie's Maria...

Ammi, in the end, chose the two players she felt had contributed the least to the task: Braden and *Kate*, and so Niamh's first decision came up. Here's what she said.

hhhhmmmmmm, that's tough neither of them helped out in the task, although braden did pop up once or twice and ask if we needed help and I think I need to get rid of kate because she's already accused me of being the killer, even said that i was a cat burgaler, wtf???? lol I'm going to be caught i reckon
So yeah, i think it'd be safest for me to eliminate Kate

Task Two - The Double
Before this task started - the one where DrunkerThanMoses was chosen to be leader by you lot, and you had the joy of working out 75 song clips - I gave Niamh another decision that had nothing to do with killing. You may remember that 5 of you were approached to kill off somebody in a twist called "Pack Mentality", and I told you that you were chosen at random. In fact, Niamh chose you all - but she didn't give a reason

as for the killing, ugh I'm torn I should pick Jon because he's so good at these games and he'll probably win otherwise but I would feel so cruel if I did, he's put so much effort in and he worked his ass off in that task aaarrrgghhh I can't do it, I wouldn't be able to sleep lol I'm going to have to kill Glenn

In the Pack Mentality twist, 4 of the 5 approached decided to vote. The one who didn't was Josy - she didn't reply in time, but she did say that she wouldn't have voted to kill someone anyway. Jake, Jon, Marc and Annie all voted:

In retrospect, I'm curious to know whether any of you decided to plot this together. I did ask that you vote separately and individually - but I received Annie and Jon's votes within 1 minute of each other. I remember thinking at the time that it was a bit of a coincidence - and I don't mind now if you did indeed plot it together, but because none of you gave reasons other than Marc, I'm not sure why Cuda died

Task Three and SITD #1 - Forced Hands
I've already revealed what happened in the stabs in the dark and why Braden was chosen, and indeed why the other players picked up any votes, so I won't explain any more of that - but with Braden now out of the way, attentions had to shift as you knew that he was now innocent. At this point, I should note, *Kate* did PM me her suspicions again but at this point she was now narrowing it down to TWO possible killers: Niamh and Drew.

For this task, Lucas was chosen to be the team leader. Can't quite remember how but oh well I think the only two I forced to be leader by luck (posting at an unfortunate time) were Ammi and Annie? I digress. The task was probably the easiest by far, where you simply had to identify who was in my avatar before ten minutes passed, although Drew's determination to win immunity for the second consecutive time seemed to piss a few people off. The task was passed easily, and Lucas' decision was this.

Task Four and SITD #2 - Difficult Decisions, and a Helping Hand
As already mentioned, Annie became team leader through an unhappy coincidence, having posted at an unlucky time. She had another fairly easy ride though, and many others did, as the CSI task saw you all trying to find clues in a big map. 3 of you managed to acquire immunity by happening to find 2 clues each (out of a total of 12) - Donovan, Marc and Annie herself - and since you managed to find a total of 11 of 12 clues (needing 10 to pass), you all passed another task.

In addition to this, I promised that I would reveal 1 actual clue about the Killer for each clue found after passing the requirement for the task; since you found 11, this meant I could give you two real clues (unfortunately you missed out on a full house, where I'd have revealed the gender of the killer).

You didn't seem to find either of these particularly helpful though, and the reaction to this can be found on pages 118 and 119. Annie, in the meantime, had a decision to make:

It's going to have to be Dezzy, he's not been very active in the game so it's only fair I think

Shortly after this decision, you all had to make your second attempt at finding the killer, and for the second time in a row, Niamh went without even a trace of suspicion. Ammi, however, seemed just too nice and close to me to escape the pointing fingers, and with the help of her own refusal to vote, was killed off as the game's second wrongly-accused killer.
