Default The viewers always need someone to hate.

I've noticed that viewers (mainly forum members) always move on to different targets to hate. First it was Jemima, then Wolfy, then Jackie, then Hazel and now because all the people left in are all likeable, they turn on the housemate that behaves the most differently from the average, quiet person (Gina).

Maybe that's the main reason why people watch? I swear Vote to Evict has only made it worse with all the hateful/personal comments towards housemates sometimes.

...ignoring the bewildering Gina favouritism, I agree that some people seem to watch these shows purely for someone to hate. They switched back to VTE because it makes more money... in other words... people will vote harder to "get out someone they hate" than to save a housemate they like.

That fact alone, is a really, really sad reflection on the public in general.

You can really see it reflected in the BOTS audience, which is interesting. I was never a Gina fan and there were a lot of people here, for example, sticking up for Hazel long before this week... but I swear the BOTS audience only a week ago were unilaterally booing Hazel and cheering like schoolgirls at a boyband concert for Gina... and then, I tune in last night, to see that the BOTS audience (made up of basically the same people every time) was giving Hazel a pretty good reception, clapping and cheering her, and when one of the panellists showed support for Gina all of a sudden it was "Boooo, nooo!!".

I'd like to think it's just that they have had their eyes opened to her not being particularly nice... but, realistically, it can only be because Hazel was a dead-cert to go and so that nasty mob mentality was pre-emptively switching to another housemate.

I don't hate any of them but the public do love a good witch hunt.

"Hate" is a strong word for a tv programme.I don't even "hate" anyone in real life.I think people change who dislike because of how the hm's act.I mean look at Gina,She has been purely obnoxious for the last week or so.Nothing to like about her.I think she's sealed her own fate.

actually it wasn't made up of the same people. Which I saw when I tuned in. Unless it was someone who was already a Hazel fan.

People have been hating on Dexter since it began & he's still here, proving that you can be hated by some & loved by others. People will always hate & others wont, fact of life.

Gina set us all such a great example - only fitting to follow her lead.

the hate Dan/Wolfy got on here was SO unjust and just proves some people unnecessarily hate. Especially Wolfy, just because she was confident people on here were anticipating that she'd get booed and humiliated once she left the house. It's just a gameshow there's nothing wrong with being confident you sick ****s. She was such a good housemate too and no one on here seemed to support her, instead being up Dexter/Gina/Callum's arse (I did love the former two but they were nowhere as entertaining as the first few evictees) and wishing that boring twat Michael was back. Even the people who constantly say entertainment is important were hating on Wolfy. BB14 was a dark time on here

the fact that they go on a show such as Big Brother makes them all worthy of hate, its just who is the least hateable/most entertaining

I don't remember making this thread

But it's true, without someone to hate the show gets boring.

Gina became boring after the first few weeks.

The only worthwhile housemates in BB14 were Dexter, Gina, Sallie, Callum, Wolfy, Dan and Hazel. They were the stars, the rest were all filler and/or irrelevant

Imagine that final seven though
