Honestly though... Show me the internet campaign / experts in the field that are spending hours debating the fate of Mary - the cow I ate as a steak last week - and I might be able to take the plight of Marius seriously. Otherwise I can only assume that the entire thing is unfounded sentiment. Think about it: every zoo in the world that houses lions, tigers, and other carnivorous creatures must be slaughtering animals to sustain them. Cows, sheep, Maybe things like goats or deer. If someone can give me one, just one, valid reason as to why Marius has a greater right to life than any of those animals? Do I have to give them names? Maybe if I call the deer I saw a lion munching on at a safari park last summer "Timothy" and post pictures of him being mauled alongside a picture of bambi?
They killed an animal and fed it to zoo lions. The hysterics are baffling.
