Exactly. I'm hugely in favour of bringing donations on to the site, I just don't want people being classed as more 'important' than other people just because they pay £1 extra than someone else. Perks are fine, don't see why we can't have them if we donate. But VIP sections and being called 'VIPs' are a big no no IMO.

Well it's not going to happen so there's no point for either side to go on about it and since all the "elitism" theories are stemming from that then that's pointless to discuss further also.

The fact that there's drama/division at just the discussion of a separate section shows that a separate section would've caused drama. So this thread has already proven it IMO.

This forum is massive, it has over 10 years of content and member databases so no it couldn't be transferred over to one of those crappy free forums because the servers couldn't handle it for a start not to mention the amount of add ons and customisations that this forum has.

That said some people clearly aren't reading posts, no one said anything about the site needing money, just that if something like this suggestion was implemented then it could benefit from donations that would take place of the ad revenue that the forum used to have.

There also WOULD NOT be any private or seperate forums or sections.

I know, but it's still in the OP and probably why there are so many 'no's many (like myself and Drew) have said we're in favour of the idea without it (and the word VIP) and therefore the real "no" vote is much smaller.

For all of these complaints that there are too many naysayers there are just as many drama queens complaining that nothing ever gets implemented on this forum, or that it's always dead, and is never going to change. The whole point of discussion and debate on this topic is to work towards what's best for the forum.

Terrible idea, I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the infractions we hand out are to people over the age of 21 so the idea of an exclusive board for older people based on the idea it would lead to mature discussion is a flawed one. Chances are it'll be used as a place to bitch about other members.
